What is the crisis in Health Care Coverage in our state? What do our religious values have to say about it? What do health and wholeness, human dignity , the common good, and social justice have to do with us...do we really have to get involved? And what do the 3 primary plans being proposed really accomplish?
Join us as Carla San Fillipo, our Elder working in Contemplative Justice Ministries, guides our discussion using the Wisconsin Council of Churches curriculum on this subject. All are welcome. We will meet in Fellowship Hall to accommodate our numbers and our interest.
Join this 5 week study group featuring DVDs based on the book Spiritual Literacy: Reading the Sacred in Everyday Life, by Frederic and MaryAnn Brussat who are media editors for "Spirituality and Health Magazine". Judith Kubish, Interfaith Minister and Celebrant, will guide our time together.
This innovative DVD series is organized around an alpahbet of 26 spiritual qualities of mind and heart designed for practicing spirituality in everyday life. Award-winning filmmaker David Cherniack has married the inspiring words of teachers from many different spiritual traditions to sense-luscious visuals and emotionally vibrant music, creating meditative, heart-opening experiences.
This free series (donations appreciated), which includes film viewing and group discussions, covers topics like compassion, gratitude, and forgiveness. It will bridge us into our Lenten experiences of the Holy. At each meeting we will view one of the videos, followed by a group discussion about our individual experience of that spiritual practice.
We welcome this multi-faith dialog that will surely increase all our collective spiritual literacy!
